Bisnis.comJAKARTA – Indonesian mixed doubles badminton player Adnan Maulana is aiming to win the Indonesia International Challenge 2022 tournament to be held in Malang City, East Java from October 11-16, 2022.
At a press conference in Malang City on Monday, Adnan said that in the badminton tournament he will team up with his new partner Nita Violina Marwah and hope to achieve a feat in the championship.
“The hope is that we can become champions and provide the best game for the public and everyone. Certainly for Indonesia, we have to do our best,” Adnan said.
Adnan explained that while he hoped to win the title at the Indonesia International Challenge 2022, he also realized that he was currently only paired with Nita Violina. However, he still believes he can perform at his best.
According to him, during the Indonesia International Challenge 2022, it was the first time he was paired with Nita Violina. He hopes the two players’ communication and mutual support can go smoothly on the pitch.
“Later on the pitch we can remember and support each other. All the enemies on the pitch are the same, who is the most prepared, he is the one who holds the game,” he said.
He added that there were a number of foreign players he was wary of in the badminton tournament. These are players who come from China and Korea.
“What we are wary of is China, Korea. We meet often at senior level. We have to be ready for whoever the opponent is,” he said.
The tournament, which will be held from October 11 to 16, 2022, will bring together 238 athletes from 13 countries. International level players include Austria, Canada, China, Estonia, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and America.
In the tournament with a prize of 15 thousand United States (US) dollars, 132 players from abroad participated and the rest from within the country. It is expected that the national athletes who will compete will be able to give the best results of the tournament.
