4. Conservatives

Preservatives prevent mold from growing in the shampoo. Mold is one of the health risks, especially if the product contains a lot of water as an ingredient. The most commonly used preservatives are sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate which are also used in foods

5. Emollient

These are ingredients that work to balance the effects of surfactants. Emollients help hair follicles retain moisture to prevent hair from becoming brittle. Emollients also lubricate hair strands to stop friction damage. Emollients can be obtained from aloe vera, vegetable oil and mineral oil.
