Ahmad Dhani had revealed his concert plans Dewa 19 in Canada next year. However, the Dewa 19 leader later admitted that he let this plan slide because he was too impatient to wait for it.
“I have good news, next year we will have a concert in Canada,” said Ahmad Dhani in Jakarta, as reported by detikcom, Tuesday (15/8).
This was also supported by former Dream Theater member Derek Sherinian, who collaborated with Dewa 19.
“Yes, there is a big, extraordinary project,” he said.
However, Ahmad Dhani admitted to accidentally leaking the plan. This came after Whitesnake member Dino Jelusic said plans for concerts in Canada should not be revealed in advance.
“Hey, that shouldn’t be discussed now,” Dino Jelusic said.
“Oh yeah, just say it and Ahmad Dhani will make a mistake,” Dhani said.
The musicians have previously collaborated for Love is Blind. For this song, Dewa 19 collaborated with Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal (Sons of Apollo, ex-Guns N' Roses) on guitar, Simon Phillips (ex-Toto) on drums and Derek Sherinian (ex-Dream Theater) on keyboard.
Apart from that, there are also Dino Jelusic (Whitesnake) and Jeff Scott Soto (Sons Of Apollo) on vocals and Billy Sheehan (Mr Big, Talas) on bass.
Additionally, Dewa 19 also recently performed at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium with all these musicians.
In this concert, Dewa 19 appeared with three singers, namely Ari Lasso, Virzha and Ello. Apart from this, Dewa 19 was also accompanied by a number of international musicians such as keyboardist Derek Sherinian and guitarist Richie Kotzen.
A number of national musicians such as Lyodra, Sandhy Sondoro and drummer Tyo Nugros were also invited to host the event. Tickets for this show are sold out.
After her appearance at SUGBK, Dewa 19 ft. The All Stars Stadium Tour will continue next week at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung, Saturday (19/8).
