Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – Ladies singles India, Pusarla V Sindhudecided to resign from badminton world championship 2022.

The Badminton World Championships will be held August 22-28, 2022 in Tokyo, Japan.

India is certainly missing their best strength to feature in the 2022 Badminton World Championships.

The reason, India’s number one women’s singles Pusarla V Sindhu has decided to quit. This was transmitted by his father, PV Ramana.

Pusarla was injured while competing at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in early August.

“But he made it to the semis despite severe pain before finally winning the CWG (Commonwealth Games) gold medal with his ankle tied,” said PV Ramana.

Currently, Sindhu will focus on recovering from injury. The 27-year-old is expected to return to Denmark or France in October.

“It’s disappointing to miss the World Championships, especially considering Sindhu’s performance after winning the Singapore Open and the CWG. However, it was unexpected,” Ramana said.

“The focus is definitely more on recovery and we will be targeting Denmark and the French Open in mid-October,” Ramana said.

Through his social media accounts, Sindhu also confirmed that he will not be taking part in the 2022 Badminton World Championships.

After having an MRI scan, Sindhu was asked to take a break on the badminton court.

“The doctors confirmed a stress fracture in my left leg and recommended that I rest for a few weeks. I should be back training in a few weeks.” writes Sindhu.

Sindhu is indeed in the midst of a tough performance lately. At the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Sindhu beat Canadian Michelle Li 21-15 and 21-13 in the final.
