Government Canada announced the creation of a new immigration program linked to citizens Ukraine who fled the invasion Russia. They will be offered a temporary residence permit in Canada for a maximum of three years.

In a statement, the Canadian government said that “Ukrainian citizens and their immediate family members, regardless of nationality, can live in Canada as a temporary resident for up to three years.
It is specified that applicants must register online and provide biometric data in the form of fingerprints and photos. Para Ukrainian refugees can also simultaneously apply for work and study permits.
Ukrainian citizens and their families who have settled Canada will also benefit from these new measures and will be able to “extend their visitor status or work permit for 3 years, apply for a new work or study permit, or extend their existing permit”.
According to data from the United Nations (UN) agency released on Thursday (17/3/2022), more than three million people have left Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion on February 24. Of this number, more than half fled to Poland.
