Canadian F1 GP qualifying results: Alonso fails to cushion Verstappen

F1 News: Max Verstappen’s incredible result is back. The speed of the Red Bull Racing car was unstoppable by its rivals in the qualifying round of the 2022 Canadian F1 GP.

In the race which took place on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Sunday (19/6/2022) early in the morning, Verstappen had a hard time because the track was still wet. However, slowly dry track conditions prompted Verstappen to dare to step on the gas to set the best time of 1 minute 21.299 seconds.

The record time could not in fact be continued by Fernando Alonso. The alpine racer had to settle for second place. Carlos Sainz performed no less brilliantly. The Scuderia Ferrari driver was able to start in third position.

Surprising results were scored by Kevin Magnussen and Mick Schumacher. Both can start in fifth and sixth positions.
