Whitesky Group Collaborates with Canada to Invest in AP I Airport

Bisnis.comJAKARTA – Whitesky Group has entered into a new cooperation agreement with a Canadian company, Sinobec Trading Inc, to explore the investment profile in the development of airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) or AP I.

CEO and Founder of Whitesky Group, Denon Prawiraatmadja, explained that this decision is a continuation of the cooperation agreement with AP I which was concluded on the sidelines of the B20 event in Bali some time ago.

This is also the starting point, where the Whitesky Group and Sinobec will conduct a study to make investment models in the airports managed by AP I by offering development or better development than what has been done before. Starting with increasing the level of service, updating technology and such.

Regarding the airports with which to cooperate, it is still under discussion and the selection of the airports that will be developed in this collaboration, to be more precise, will be announced by AP I.

“But what is clear is that AP I is offering all of its airports which are divided into four clusters with an expected total investment of around $600 million or more,” he said on Monday (21/ 11/2022).

The objective of this collaboration is to reduce the operational costs of the airports managed by AP I so that they are more efficient. As is known, the high operating costs at the airport will have an impact on air ticket prices, which will also eventually be burdened by potential passengers who wish to use air transport services.

It is hoped, he added, that this investment cooperation will reduce the costs that will be borne by airports that affect flight operators, so that it can have an impact on reducing the costs borne by the community using airport services.

Denon also said that in this collaboration, in addition to being a mediator between AP I and Sinobec, the Whitesky group will also invest in the development of airports that will later cooperate. It is hoped that this will bring more benefits to all parties involved in the investment.

“To finalize a business cooperation model like this, we will conduct a comparative study in Canada. As we all know, there is a center for the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) or commonly called the International Civil Aviation Organization,” he said.
