In Akie Abe, Ma’ruf said again that the people of Indonesia will always remember the leadership and good service of the late Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, especially for strengthening the friendship between the people of the two countries.
“Allow me to convey greetings from President Joko Widodo and Mrs. Iriana, as well as the hope that Mrs. Abe will always receive health and strength,” Ma’ruf concluded.
For information, the occasion of greeting at Akasaka Palace brought together heads of state/government who attended the state funeral procession of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to express their condolences directly.
The speech was initiated by Prime Minister Fumio Kishida accompanied by Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno Hirokazu and Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa, then wife of late former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Akie Abe.
The time allotted is 1 (one) minute for each Head of State/Government to convey their greetings and condolences.
Apart from Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, several Heads of State/Government were also present at this event. Among them are Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, European Council President Charles Michel, Slovenian President Borut Pahor, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Qatari Emir Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.
Also present were Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris.
In addition, several former Heads of State/Government were also present. Like former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, former Australian Prime Minister John Howard, Tony Abbott and Malcolm Turnbull, former British Prime Minister Theresa May, former Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and former German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
