An overview of the history of the sinking of the Titanic

Dock. planet alone The Titanic sank in 1912 in the Atlantic Ocean.

reported from Kompas.comOn April 15, 2022, Titanic’s first and last voyage to the Atlantic Ocean departed from Southampton, England.

The Irish design of the ship William Pirrie is considered the fastest ship in the world. Built in Belfast, Ireland, the Titanic measures 833 feet or approximately 254 meters from stern to bow.

The hull is divided into 16 compartments, 4 compartments can accommodate flooding without losing the buoyancy of the vessel. It’s also what makes you think the Titanic can’t sink.

When it left the port, the Titanic was a few meters from the steamer New York, but managed to cross it safely.

After stopping in Cherbourg, France, Queenstown and Ireland to pick up some of the last passengers, the huge ship sped off to its final destination, New York.

However, just before midnight on April 14, 1912, the Titanic failed to divert its course from the iceberg and destroyed at least 5 of its hull compartments.

Because Titanic’s compartment was not closed at the top, water from the broken compartment filled each compartment.

As a result, the bow sinks and the stern rises almost perpendicularly. After that, the Titanic broke into two parts and sank to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.

Of the 2,200 passengers, at least 1,500 people died. While 700 other people survived this tragedy.
