Jakarta, CNNIIndonesia —
japan national team swallowed a 1-2 loss against Canada in a test match World Cup 2022 at Al Maktoum Stadium, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Thursday (11/17).
Japan started this match well. Samurai Blue managed to open a 1-0 lead as the game lasted nine minutes.
Japan’s goal was scored by Yuki Soma. A measured pass from midfield could be calmly converted by Soma into the Canadian goal.
But Canada could equalize in the 21st minute. A goal from Canadian central defender Steven Vitoria managed to draw the game 1-1.
The clash between the two teams then took place with difficulty and should end in a draw. However, during added time in the second half, Canada got a penalty that Lucas Cavallini converted into a goal.
Japanese keeper Shuichi Gonda can actually see Cavallini’s Harvest kick. It’s just that the advantage wasn’t enough to stop the ball heading towards the goal and changed the score to 2-1 for Canada’s win.
This result is clearly not encouraging for Japan in view of their progression to the 2022 World Cup. Meanwhile, for Canada, this win has boosted confidence to show off in Qatar.
