Spain Overtakes El Salvador to Become Third Largest Crypto ATM Center – Center for Forex Learning and Breaking Business News

Spain, a European country, is officially home to the third largest Bitcoin (BTC) network and cryptocurrency ATM after the United States and Canada.

Spain currently hosts 215 crypto ATMs, pushing El Salvador, with 212 crypto ATMs, into fourth place after overtaking the country with 3 crypto ATMs. Data from CoinATMRadar confirms that Spain accounts for 0.6% of global crypto ATM installs.

Additionally, the disclosure places Spain as the largest contributor to crypto ATMs in Europe, accounting for 14.65% of the continent’s total installs, followed by Switzerland (144 ATMs), Poland ( 142 ATMs) and Romania (135 ATMs).

In 2022 alone, Spain installed 43 crypto ATMs and previously shared plans to install a total of over 100 ATMs by the end of the year, bringing the total to nearly 300 ATMs. automatic cryptographic checks when complete.

MediaMarkt, a German electronics retailer, and Confinity, among others, are leading efforts to install crypto ATMs in Austria, Germany, Spain, and Greece.

Greece ranks sixth when it comes to cryptocurrency ATMs, and with an influx of tourists, Bitcoin ATM operator BCash is sharing information on usage statistics in the country.

Speaking to Cointelegraph, BCash Managing Director and Co-Founder Dimitrios Tsangalidis revealed that despite installing crypto ATMs in tourist hotspots, most usage comes from major urban areas.

However, the island of Crete attracts a “very loyal cryptocurrency crowd”, as Tsangalidis explains:

According to Tsangalidis, the combination of the crypto winter and the tourist season has resulted in a slowdown in regular traffic in the use of crypto ATMs.
