“NATO member states respect the statement made by Russia that the missiles fired at Poland are not related to them. Russia says this incident is not related to them, this statement is very important for us,” he said during a press conference to the media. Center, Wednesday (16/11/2022).
During his meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Erdoğan said that NATO had agreed that additional investments were needed and that a hasty decision was unjustifiable.
Earlier, United States (US) President Joe Biden also said he had received information that the missile that fell in Poland near the Ukrainian border could not have been fired by Russia.
“It shows that it may have nothing to do with Russia, there may be a technical problem, information will be obtained after further investigation,” he explained,
Erdoğan said spreading false information risked plunging the world into a Third World War. NATO plans to bring Russia and Ukraine together as soon as possible for dialogue at the same table.
“Six NATO countries communicated and after this communication, involving the United States, there is a message in general, that the missiles coming from Russia are a provocation and because of that, we want as soon as possible bring Russia and Ukraine together to sit at the same table,” he explained.
The Polish Foreign Ministry said a Russian-made missile crashed in the village of Przewodow, Poland, near the Ukrainian border, on Tuesday (11/15/2022) at 3:40 p.m. local time. The incident of the Russian missile falling on its territory prompted the Polish ministry to summon the Russian ambassador.
Following the Russian missile, firefighters said two people were killed by an explosion in a village in eastern Poland, about 6 km from the border with Ukraine, as reported by the Press Agency. CNA, Wednesday (16/11/2022).
In response to this incident, United States President Joe Biden and several leaders of other G20 countries held an emergency meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Bali on Wednesday (11/16/2022) to discuss the missile attack that hit Poland.

In a YouTube show on The White House, Joe Biden said the missile attack that happened in Poland was not up to him to say whether the attack came from Russia or not.
