Jakarta (ANTARA) – Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Abdullah Azwar Anas said India and Canada could be references for efforts to strengthen the security of the National Data Center (PDN) in Indonesia.
“I have already forwarded references to various countries. In Canada, India and various countries, it turns out that there are special units that deal with it institutionally,” the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform said after attending an internal meeting chaired by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) regarding cyber attacks on government data, at the State Palace in Jakarta, Friday.
Therefore, his party is preparing the formation of a special institutional governance to strengthen the protection of the PDN. The first step taken is the formation of a technical implementation unit related to the management of the PDN. Apart from this, his party is also reviewing the references of various countries for the formation of a special institutional governance for the PDN.
“This governance is linked to the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, we are currently examining the references in different countries, which are the most appropriate in terms of PDN management,” he said.
Azwar added that the cyberattack that disrupted government data since June 20, 2024 could be an important lesson so that similar incidents do not happen again in the PDN facility that will be launched in Indonesia at the end of this year.
“This is just the PDNS, a temporary national data center. We are now preparing the national data center which will be launched at the end of the year,” he said.
