Maulid Diba’ resounded throughout the United States and Canada, such as Boston, Seattle, Cleveland, Philadelphia, New York, Knoxville, Buffalo, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal. This was done in commemoration of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (Maulid Nabi) which was organized by the leadership of the Nahdlatul Ulama Special Branch of the United States (USA) and Canada (PCINU) on Saturday (15/ 10/2022)
The event was also filled with religious lectures by Habib Ismail Fajrie Alatas, a professor at New York University. He conveyed that the importance of this maulid reading ceremony was as tasywiqon lis-sami’ which gave birth and nurtured the desire of the Prophet saw and it was the most effective way to educate and grow the love for the Prophet saw because of ta’alluk or ties with the Prophet so that the desire arises.
The academician who goes by the colloquial name Habib Aji also pointed out that remembering the birth story and life story of the Prophet Muhammad is one of the most efficient and effective ways to accustom our ears then our hearts to have ta’alluq and to have an inner connection with the Prophet saw. .
Habib Aji cites verse 58 of Surah Yunus of the Quran as the basis for being commanded by Allah SWT to be happy with his grace and mercy. He also asked, “Is there a greater gift than the Prophet Muhammad?” Is there greater mercy than Rasulullah SAW? Is there any greater pleasure than the presence of the Prophet SAW”.
“Because those who invited us all were the noble apostles (akramur apostles), we became the noblest people, and that is the reason why we are happy and the reason why we are happy with the birth of the Prophet Muhammad,” said the representative of the Chief Syuriyah PCINU of the United States of Canada, Canada.
It is therefore not surprising that Muslims for centuries have celebrated and rejoiced at the birth of the Holy Prophet and that this month of Rabiul Awal has become a month of joy.
Besides, Habib Aji also hinted at the good habit of giving children more happiness in the month of Rabiul Awal from an early age. This is so that you can feel happiness and have a connection with the month of Rabiul Awal which became special due to the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
Because, Allah swt did not ordain that the Prophet saw was born in the great months, which were glorified before Islam. Habib Aji also pointed out that Allah SWT actually wanted to make an ordinary month which was not special a special month, a special month because of the presence of Rasulullah SAW.
Previously, to add to the splendor of this mauludan moment, a coloring contest was organized tell a story the story of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad.
Habib Aji alluded to the importance of storytelling as an education, as a mode of teaching whose effectiveness is proven as a mode of character formation without being known and felt. Stories can strengthen the heart and teach lessons. Al-Qur’an itself contains many stories that show recognition of the importance of storytelling.
Habib Aji also quotes the words of Imam Junaid al Baghdadi, al-hikayat jundun min junudi Allah Ta’ala yatsbitullahu bihal qulub (Hikayat/history is the restraint of the courtiers of God with which God fixes the hearts of humans through tales, through stories). So, is there a story that is nobler and nobler, that is more heartwarming and instructive, than the story and the story of the Prophet SAW?
This, continued the PBNU Human Resource Development Study Institute (Lakpesdam) member, is the importance of the maulid reading ceremony in reading the story of one’s birth, because there is transmission of stories, history , and history that makes us connect with the past.
This hybrid mauludan business is centered in Boston, USA and Montreal, Canada. After the event, Nahdliyin residents were socializing while enjoying Indonesian-style dishes at the residences of Mr. H Muhammad Daniar in Boston and Mr. Rangsang Wiwaswan in Montreal.
