This certainty was obtained after Mali U-17 beat Canada with a score of 5-1 at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT). Mali’s five winning goals were scored by Diarra (14′), Barry (26′), Kanate (73′), Makalou (77′) and Thiero (90+1′).
Meanwhile, Chukwu scored a consolation goal for Canada in the 45th minute. The victory was enough for Soumaila Coulibaly’s men to qualify for the round of 16 with the status of vice-champion.
Meanwhile, in other matches, Spain U-17 successfully closed the Group B preliminary match with an unbeaten record in the last three matches. In the final match, the Matador team tied 2-2.
Even though they only got one point in the final match. However, Spain U-17 still won Group B with seven points.
Thus, seven countries are guaranteed to qualify for the round of 16. The seven participants are Spain, Senegal, England, the United States, France, Germany and Mali.
