Luhut talks about the Indonesian bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit: something very strategic

TEMPO.CO, Nusa Dua – Minister in charge of the coordination of maritime affairs and investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan is still reluctant to disclose President Joko Widodo’s bilateral meeting (Jokowi) with heads of state on the sidelines of the G20 summit. However, he confirmed that Jokowi had communicated with several state officials.

“The bilateral meeting is not yet ready disclose, but pretty good. There is a very strategic meeting and it will show that President Jokowi is a president capable of leading by example,” Luhut said during a press conference at ITDC Nusa Dua, Bali on Saturday, November 12, 2022.

Peak G20 Summit will take place in Nusa Dua, Bali, on November 15 and 16. In rehearsal, Indonesia as presidency G20 will organize a lunch with the coconuts of the member countries of the G20 who are present in person in Apurva, Kempinski, Bali.

Indonesia will also host a dinner for state guests at Garuda Wisnu Kencana, 11 kilometers from Apurva. Regarding the preparations, Jokowi confirmed this directly to Luhut. He called Luhut from Cambodia to make sure the G20 summit goes smoothly.

In the phone connection, Jokowi also asked about the preparation for the Indonesia-China rapid train dynamic test. The dynamic test will be attended by Jokowi and Chinese President Xi Jinping. After that, the two heads of state planned to hold a bilateral meeting.

As of yesterday, 17 heads of state have been confirmed to have attended the summit of the G20 summit. Two of them are US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Other heads of state confirmed to attend the big event in person are South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is confirmed absent. Putin will be represented by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
