Luhut: Preparations for G20 summit in Bali 99% complete

Badung: Minister in charge of the coordination of maritime affairs and investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan reported that readiness for the entire series of G20 summits (summit) in Bali on November 15-16, 2022 had reached 99%. Various preparations, including those related to infrastructure, transport, logistics and security, have proceeded as planned.

“I think (the preparations for the G20 summit) are going well. Yesterday the president (Joko Widodo) saw all the preparations for himself. I think it’s 99%,” Luhut said in response. to questions from journalists after attending an international seminar on the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) in Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.

The National Committee for the Organization of the G20 Presidency, which consists of a number of ministries, institutions, the TNI and the national police, has made various preparations for the G20 summit.

On the same occasion, he also mentioned that there are 17 heads of state of G20 members who have confirmed their participation in the in-person G20 summit in Bali.

Several heads of state/heads of government have confirmed their attendance at the in-person G20 summit in Bali, including US President Joe Biden, Chinese President Xi Jinping, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the British Prime Minister. Rishi Sunak.

So far, the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Bali has not been confirmed. President Jokowi said the two leaders of the country are still reviewing the situation and conditions in their respective countries.

“A few days ago I also called, spoke on the phone with President Putin and President Zelensky, he said he would be there if conditions allowed,” Jokowi said.
