PV Sindhu entered the women’s singles final after dismissing another Singaporean player. Two-time Olympic medalist Sindhu beat world number 18 Yeo Jia Min 21-19, 21-17 to advance to a second straight Commonwealth Games final.
The Gold Coast Games silver medalist faced a tough challenge in the semi-finals but won the match with a brilliant performance under pressure. Hyderabadi, 27, will play a gold medal match against Canada’s Michelle Li on Monday.
Kidambi Srikanth, meanwhile, lost 21-13, 19-21 and 10-21 to Malaysian Ng Tze Yong, whom he faced a few days ago in the final of the mixed team tournament.
Srikanth was scheduled to play a bronze medal match against Jia Heng Teh.
