TORONTO Ambassador (Ambassador) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) for Canada Daniel Tumpal Simanjuntak hopes the Indonesian community in and around Toronto will be strong and united.

“15% of Toronto residents are Asian, so they have strong ties (to Canada's Indonesian community),” Daniel said while breaking the fast with the Indonesian Islamic Society of Toronto (MIIT) at the MIIT Center Building in Mississauga, Ontario. , Last weekend.

“I have a desire or a desire that our diaspora becomes stronger, that the diaspora who still have an Indonesian passport or not, must be united. Through our different networks and friendships, let us strengthen policy “Indonesia is the diaspora,” Daniel continued.

Specifically for MIIT, the former director of the Asia and Africa region at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu), hopes that MIIT can help government programs, especially in the conduct of economic diplomacy. This is also what members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) visiting Canada recently ordered.

“Especially for MIIT, I hope I can encourage the younger generation to stay connected with Indonesia. I entrust this to you, MIIT is the only big pillar of Indonesian society, Indonesian diaspora in Toronto. “On behalf of the government, I would also like to thank MIIT for facilitating the visit of DPR members,” said the 1991 alumnus of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of the University of Indonesia ( UI).
