Indonesia sends 12 policewomen to attend international conference in Canada, including 2 from Central Java Police : Okezone Nasional

SEMARANG – Indonesia sent a delegation team consisting of 12 Policewoman active in the 59th Conference of the International Association of Women Policewomen (IAWP) held in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada from September 12-16, 2022. Two of the policewomen are from the Central Java Regional Police.

The delegation team was accompanied by two retired police generals, namely Inspector General of Police (P) Juansih, Inspector General of Police (P) Apriastini Bakti. Kabag Gassus Ro Binkar SSDM Polri, Kombes Pol Hendra Wirawan also accompanied the team in this activity.




The Central Java policewomen include Central Java Police Chief Dokkes Kombes Pol Sumy Hastry Purwanti and Magelang City AKBP Police Chief Yolanda Evalyn Sebayang.

Pol Kombes Sumy Hastry Purwanti said that the Indonesian delegation team was very enthusiastic and gained a lot of new knowledge during this IAWP conference.

“The focus of the discussion at this conference is how female police officers around the world work together to build relationships so that they bond and build their common strength, increase their professionalism and also manage their personal lives,” said the policewoman, a forensic expert. , in a written statement received by reporters, Wednesday (9/14/2022).

Hastri explained that this conference raises the question of how female police officers around the world connect, strengthen each other and develop the art of leadership. Apart from this, the IAWP conference in Ontario also encourages the creation of an inclusive environment where female police officers can be respected, valued and able to develop their unique talents.

“He also discussed how to develop mental and physical health, skills to be able to adapt quickly to each work environment and be resilient in the face of each challenge,” he said.

Niagara Falls is a very suitable place to discuss physical and mental health followed by yoga sports training activities which are supported by the beautiful view of Niagara Falls.

Like the previous conference, the IAWP conference in Ontario also presented awards to female police officers who have succeeded in carrying out their duties in an innovative and persistent manner by providing the best service to the community.

In addition, awards were also given to male police officers who have played a major role in supporting the roles and career development of female police officers, both as sponsors and mentors.
