Hundreds of Canadians suffer from mysterious brain disease with symptoms of hallucinations and memory loss

Cases of a mysterious brain disease are emerging in the Canadian province of New Brunswick, and the number of sufferers is expected to continue to rise. Today, several health experts say that more than 200 people have suffered from this mysterious illness. Like what?

In 2015, a small group of patients emerged who experienced neurological symptoms in the form of hallucinations, muscle atrophy, vision problems, memory loss and abnormal movements. However, this number continued to increase until it reached 48 cases.

Today, the number of young people suffering from this mysterious illness continues to increase at an unusual rate. They often have symptoms such as dementia or other signs of neurological problems.

“I am very concerned about the increasing number of early-onset and early-onset neurological syndromes,” said neurologist Dr. Alier Marrero in a letter he wrote on January 30, 2023 to New Brunswick’s chief medical officer, as cited by the New YorkPost. , Tuesday (4/7/2023).

“Over the past year, I have followed 147 cases, aged 17 to 80. Of these, 57 were early cases and 41 were early cases,” the text adds.

Earlier in 2021, the Daily Mail reported that there had been nine cases of deaths linked to the mysterious brain disease. But a government investigation that considered environmental toxins as the cause of the illness was abruptly closed in 2021.

In February 2022, New Brunswick’s public health agency stated that in reality, there was no evidence as to the cause of the neurological syndrome experienced by a group of people in its region.

“Individuals belonging to this group presented with symptoms that varied considerably from case to case, and there was no evidence of a common illness or syndrome of unknown cause,” the report said.
