Guardian passes the Fantasia Film Festival in Canada

“We are happy to receive this good news. We are grateful that our work can be appreciated by foreign audiences. This is the first step for me and the production house Skylar Pictures to release the film internationally,” said director Helfi Kardit, when contacted, Friday (7/25/2014).

The film “Guardian” was screened at this festival on July 28, at the DB Clarke Theatre, to coincide with Eid. “I myself went to Montreal on July 23,” he continued.
The international distribution of this action drama film is handled by Birch Tree Entertainment, a film company headquartered in Las Vegas, United States. Those trying to get “Guardian” into the Fantasia Festival.

Guardian has been circulating in Indonesian cinemas since the end of last April. This 90-minute film stars Hollywood actresses Sarah Carter, Dominique Diyose, Belinda Camesi, Tio Pakusadewo, Nino Fernandez, Kimmy Jayanti, Ganindra Bimo, Claudia Soraya and Naomi Zaskia.

This film tells the story of a mother and her daughter who try to escape the pursuit of two groups who want their lives. Speeding scenes enhance the chase action. There are also scenes of gunfire, fierce fighting and several explosions. The film contains elements of tragic drama complemented by extreme action.

Besides “Guardian”, the domestic films that were also presented at this event were “Killers”, a thriller by the duo The Mo Brothers and the 14-minute short film “You Can’t Hear Me, You Can’t See Me” by Awi Suryadi.

The Fantasia International Film Festival is a festival specifically dedicated to genre films held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada since 1996.
