JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com– Director Girry Primary will be flying to Canada soon.

Girry Pratama’s goal was to fly there to hone his skills in the field of filmmaking.

“I will go to a special school in Canada for 2 years there, studying DOP (director of photography) and director. I deliberately want to learn,” Girry Pratama said on the sidelines of a press conference for the movie The Other Side in South Jakarta recently.

“Even though I know I can be self-taught, I just need paper. A lot of good self-taught directors don’t have paper,” Girry added.

The 35-year-old director’s love for the world of cinema made him want to study more seriously.

“Yes, because I’m happy (to be a director), I prefer to learn and I’m into it, more to the director later,” Girry said.

Girry Pratama is not new to the world of cinema. He is known for directing several films such as Mangga Muda to Ghostbuser: Mister Desa Dancer which airs exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar.

And most recently, Girry directed the film The Other Side, which will be released on March 17, 2022.

This film is an adaptation of a novel and a wattpad which has been watched by 23 million people.

The Other Side movie features a series of famous actors namely Wulan Guritno, Davina Karamoy, Sandy Pradana, Marcelino Lefrandy, Syakir Daulay and many more.
