As a precautionary and precautionary measure, Unilever has recalled several products in Canada and the United States. The product recall was due to the potential presence of benzene, which was thought to be caused by the propellant.
The recalled products are Dove, Nexxus, Suave, TIGI (Rockaholic and Bed Head) and TREsemme Aerosol Dry Shampoo. Products with a production date before October 2021 are said to have the potential to contain benzene which can trigger cancer if consumed in excess.
However, the recall did not prove that the benzene content of Unilever products has an impact on health. Unilever said the product recall was done as a precaution and a precaution.
“Based on an independent health risk assessment, daily exposure to benzene in the recalled products will not result in adverse health consequences. Unilever is recalling these products as an additional precaution to protect consumers,” said said Unilever in a statement Tuesday, (25/10/2022).
To follow up, Unilever is also working with propellant distributors to resolve this issue.
