DEWG 2022, Minister of Communications and Information Meets with 12 G20 Countries to Discuss Digital Ecosystem – Aptika Branch

Jakarta, Aptika General Management – The question of the meeting of the working group on the digital economy 2022 is widely relayed in the media. Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate held a bilateral meeting with representatives of ministers from 12 countries and two institutions. The meeting was part of the fourth cycle of the Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) 2022.

“We hope that tomorrow’s meeting can go smoothly, so that the completion of the DEMM and its materials will become a benchmark for the (17th G20) summit in mid-November,” he said, quoted by, Wednesday (08/31/2022).

The member countries of the G20 are Argentina, South Africa, Germany, Canada, Singapore, Cambodia, India, Japan, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Spain and l ‘Australia. The meeting also discussed Indonesia’s cooperation potential in upstream-downstream information, communication and technology infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the agenda for the 4th DEWG 2022 meeting discussed the G20 delegates’ draft declaration in a document called the Bali Package. Furthermore, the Bali Package document will be further discussed for finalization by G20 members during the Digital Economy Ministers Meeting (DEMM) on September 1, 2022. (lry)
