Defeat the Chinese representative, Pramudya/Rahmat is the champion

MALANG, lightning.com- Indonesian men’s doubles Pramudya Kusumawardana and Rahmat Hidayat won the badminton tournament Indonesia Masters 2022 Super 100 which will be held in Malang City, East Java from October 18 to 23, 2022.

Pramudya/Rahmat in the final round beat Chinese pair He Ji Ting/Zhou Hao Dong in back-to-back matches 21-18, 21-19 on Sunday. The match was close with points which are linked between the two pairs.

“The match was quite difficult. Because they are above our level. Their concentration is more stable and hard to break,” Pramudya said.

He explained that the very close game flow, he admitted, made it difficult for the Indonesian pair. Especially in the second half, Pramudya and Rahmat had lost focus which could be used by the opponent.

However, he continued, they eventually managed to master the game by applying a number of strategies. The strategy that was implemented and ultimately able to lead the pair to becoming champions was to play fast and flat balls.

“We finally played fast, the ball was flat. We also didn’t attack directly, but dealt with the ball first,” he said.

On this occasion, Rahmat added, one of the keys to winning the final match was to play loose, even if he felt genuinely worried.

“The key is to play loose. Although actually I was worried because it’s my first final at this level,” he said.

Pramudya and Rahmat were the only Indonesian representatives in the final of the Super 100 Indonesia Masters 2022 badminton tournament. -14.

In the tournament, the mixed doubles champion was won by the Chinese pair Jiang Zhen Bang/Wei Ya Xi who beat the other Chinese pair Cheng Xing/Chen Fang Hui 21-12, 21-15.

In the women’s singles final, Chinese badminton player Gao Fang Jie defeated Japan’s Riko Gunji with a score of 21-10, 21-12. The men’s singles was won by badminton player Leong Jun Hao who beat fellow Malaysian Cheam June Wei 9-21, 22-20, 21-19.

The women’s doubles number was won by the Japanese pair Rui Hirokami/Yuna Kato who beat the other Japanese pair Rena Miyaura/Ayako Sakuramoto 23-21, 21-18.

The tournament brought together 259 badminton players from 12 countries. Badminton players include those from the United States, Canada, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, and host Indonesia.

The Indonesia Masters 2022 Super 100 tournament is contested for a total prize pool of US$81,000. The first winner of the tournament will receive a prize of US$6,075. (gie/ant)
