Belgium successfully beat Canada in the Group F game World Cup 2022 on Thursday (24/11) in the morning WIB.
Belgium faced Canada in the inaugural match of Group F of the 2022 World Cup which took place at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, Al Rayyan.
In this match, Belgium won 1-0 against Canada thanks to the only goal scored by Micht Batshuayi in the 44th minute.
Batshuayi’s goal was created after the Belgian striker maximized a gastric cross from defender Toby Alderweireld. Batshuayi managed to control Alderweireld’s pass perfectly and then sent the ball into the Canadian goal.
The rest of the Belgium vs Canada game was tough with both teams trading attacks. But until the end of the game, no extra goal could be created by both teams.
In fact, Canada had a golden opportunity to excel after picking up a penalty in the 10th minute. However, Alphonso Davies’ penalty was blocked by Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
The win moved Belgium into first place in the Group F standings with a collection of three points in one game played.
Meanwhile, Canada are now bottom of the Group F standings with zero points in a match played.
