Attend the G20 summit, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrives in Bali

TEMPO.CO, NUSA DUA — Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in Bali on Monday November 14, 2022 to attend the G20 Summit. The VIP plane carrying Trudeau landed at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali around 3:25 p.m. WITA.

Trudeau landed shortly after Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Bali at around 3:00 p.m. The Canadian Prime Minister came to Bali after attending the ASEAN Summit in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, which was held from November 10-13.

The heads of state and government of the G20 members must land in Bali until Monday evening.

Several heads of state landed in Bali today, besides Trudeau and Xi Jinping, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also came today.

Prime Minister Albanese via a verified Twitter account tweeted that he would hold meetings with Indonesia, China, France, India and the UK. “Leaders of the world’s largest economies will meet at the G20 in Bali to find solutions to address common challenges,” @AlboMP tweeted.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida arrived in Bali in the early hours of Monday. Indonesia is to hold a bilateral meeting with Japan today.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden and President Yoon Suk Yeol have been in Bali since Sunday (11/13) evening. President Joko Widodo and President Biden are also due to have a bilateral meeting today.

At least 17 heads of state and government will attend the 17th G20 Summit at Apurva, Kempinski Hotel, Bali.

The Indonesian G20 Presidency has chosen the theme “Recover Together, Recover Stronger” with three main agendas, namely Global Health Architecture, Digital Transformation and Sustainable Energy Transition. The G20 is a strategic forum attended by countries with the largest economies in the world.
