Alonso wants positive results in last three races to continue at Canadian GP –

F1 News: After four consecutive failures to score points at the start of the season, Alpine’s Fernando Alonso finally managed to finish in the top 10 three times in a row, most recently in Baku last weekend. He also wants the momentum to continue in Montreal when the Canadian GP takes place this weekend.

Starting in P10, Fernando Alonso managed to complete the Azerbaijan Grand Prix by finishing in P7. The two-time world champion went from medium to hard on lap 18 and continued until the end of the race. He claimed to have benefited from the pitfalls of two Ferrari drivers and the endurance issues Yuki Tsunoda had with his AlphaTauri towards the end.

“Yes, I am satisfied with the P7. We obviously took advantage of the retirement of some drivers in front of us, Ferrari and Tsunoda. But yes, things like that happen here in Baku and we took those six points, which gives us a good feeling after finishing seventh in Monaco, and seventh again here. So let’s keep going,” said the Alpine rider.

“And a lot of speed today on the straights which also helps and keeps the other cars behind so we know that and I think we maximized our strengths today. Let’s see in Canada if we can find a better one. performance because with two or three tenths I think we can take a very big step forward.”
