This great martial arts event will be broadcast in prime time in the United States and Canada from the indoor stadium in Singapore on August 27, 2022.
Along with the second meeting between Adriano Moraes and Demetrious Johnson in the final match, ONE 161 will also feature a ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship clash between legendary forwards, Nong-O Gaiyanghadao and Liam Harrison.
Since returning from retirement in April 2018, Nong-O, as the defending champion, has been able to appear dominant in his division. With an all-around record of 263-54-10, Nong-0 is now on an eight-game winning streak in ONE Super Series.
On the other side, Harrison also has a record that is no less beautiful. Having a record of 90-24-2, he became one of the legendary Muay Thai athletes not originally from Thailand.
More recently, the British fighter nicknamed “Hitman” also managed to impose himself by KO on Muangthai PK.Saenchai after two falls.
For his heroic deeds, Harrison immediately broke into the top five divisions and received an appearance bonus of US$100,000 (about Rs 1.4 billion). Moreover, he is also considered worthy to challenge Nong-O the Division King.
ONE 161 also includes the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix Semi-Final between ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Savvas Michael.
In addition to these two fights, there will also be an alternate Grand Prix match between former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Jonathan Haggerty and Amir Naseri.
Haggerty was originally scheduled to make the quarter-finals in May, but was forced to pull out the day before the match due to health reasons.
