Frank Lampard is a serious candidate to coach the Canadian national team

Jakarta: The Canadian national football team is looking for a replacement for coach John Herdman, who recently resigned. And now former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is reportedly among the candidates for the Canadian national team coaching position.

Herdman served as head coach of the Canadian national team for five years before choosing to resign and manage MLS club Toronto FC.

Mauro Biello was then named interim coach and the Canadian national team immediately achieved two wins and two draws. Dissatisfied with these results, Canadian soccer parents began to view Lampard as a serious candidate for a permanent coaching position.

The Telegraph claims that Lampard was on the list of candidates and that the Canadian football federation wants to begin negotiations as quickly as possible.

However, there was no further information on whether Lampard was interested in a job that would see him participate in the 2024 World Cup.
