World Boxing, Bob Arum predicts Artur Beterbiev will win Anthony Yarde

POS-KUPANG.COM– Predictions world boxing based on what you see Bob Arum from Artur Beterbiev91-year-old Russian co-promoter expects him to annihilate Anthony Yarde Saturday night in London.

If heavily favored Beterbiev defeats Yarde, who is the mandatory challenger for the WBO light heavyweight title, Arum hopes to take on Beterbiev (18-0, 18 KOs) against undefeated WBA champion Dmitry Bivol (21-0, 11 KOs) in a game. or full title unification bout later this year.

Arum stressed again, however, that the long-awaited Beterbiev-Bivol fight can only become a reality if ESPN secures the rights to broadcast the 12-round, £175 championship match in the US and Canada.

Arum’s company, Top Rank Inc., has an exclusive output deal with ESPN, which is available in over 80 million homes in the United States.

Beterbiev left Russia for Montreal, one of Canada’s most populous cities, after competing in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Bivol, 32, who still lives in Russia, works with Matchroom Boxing Eddie Hearn, one of two companies in the promotion, along with Golden Boy Promotions Oscar De La Hoya, which works exclusively with DAZN.

Each of Bivol’s last six fights has been broadcast by DAZN, which aired its career upset, Canelo Alvarez, on a pay-per-view platform on May 7 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

“We want to do this fight,” Arum told BoxingScene.com when asked about Beterbiev-Bivol.

“But obviously it has to be on ESPN. We could work something with DAZN in some areas, but in the US and Canada it will have to be on the ESPN platform. If Hearn is willing to do that, then we’re happy to fight anytime, anywhere. We’re not going to do that in Russia,” Arum said.

Beterbiev-Bivol would do big business in Russia under normal circumstances, but ESPN, DAZN and the four sanctions organizations represented by Beterbiev and Bivol don’t want their fight to take place there as long as Russia’s war with the Ukraine will continue.

Either way, Arum hopes one of the most meaningful fights that can be had in boxing materializes as it will bring a huge boxing following to ESPN.

“On ESPN, the audience is huge, maybe two million homes,” Arum said.

“And people won’t have to pay extra to watch it, because it’s not going to be on ESPN+, it’s going to be on ESPN.” he said.

Arum thinks Bivol and his team should push Hearn to make the next Beterbiev-Bivol happen.
