According to the National Library of Indonesia, Ali Sastroamidjojo, SH was born in Grabag, Central Java on May 21, 1903 and died on March 13, 1976. Ali was a political, government and nationalist figure. Ali graduated Meester in de Raechten (Bachelor of Laws) from the University of Leiden, the Netherlands, in 1927.

Ali is the 8th Prime Minister of Indonesia who served twice during the period 1953-1955 in the Ali Sastroamidjojo I cabinet and the period 1956-1957 in the Ali Sastroamidjojo II cabinet. In addition, Ali also served as Deputy Minister of Information in the Presidential Cabinet, Minister of Education in Amir Sjarifuddin I Cabinet, Amir Sjarifuddin II Cabinet and Hatta I Cabinet, and Deputy Chairman of MPRS in the study III, IV. Work cabinet, Cabinet Dwikora I and Cabinet Dwikora II.

During his studies, Ali was active in youth organizations, such as the Jong Java Organization (1918-1922) and the Indonesian Association in the Netherlands (1923-1928). Because of his activities, he was detained by the Dutch in 1927.

In 1928, Ali opened a law firm and published Djanget magazine in Solo. Ali had joined the Indonesian Nationalist Party (PNI), then was active in Gerindo when the PNI was disbanded.

After the end of World War II, Ali served as vice-chairman of the Republic of Indonesia delegation in negotiations with the Netherlands (February 1948) and became a member of the Republic of Indonesia delegation in round table negotiations.

After the recognition of the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia, Ali was appointed Indonesian Ambassador to the United States, Canada and Mexico (1950-1955). In addition, Ali also served as General President of the Afro-Asian Conference in Bandung in 1955, Permanent Representative of Indonesia to the United Nations (UN) for the period 1957-1960, and became President of the PNI (1960-1966) .

Besides being a political figure, Ali also diligently published the results of his thoughts, notably in Introduction to International Law (1971), Indonesian Foreign Policy Today (1972), the autobiography Milestones of My Journey (1974) and Four Indonesian Students in the Netherlands (1975). ).
