Blizzards hit the United States, tens of millions of citizens experience power outages

LIVE the world – Tens of millions of citizens united states of america (USA) has experienced an outage electricity with freezing cold in the middle of a storm snow. About 60% of the US population is exposed to some sort of winter weather warning.

The National Weather Service issues a warning cold temperature to more than 200 million on Friday, Dec. 23, 2022. The weather service’s map “represents one of the greatest winter weather alerts and advisories ever,” the forecasters said.

Power outage left about 1.4 million homes and businesses in the dark, according to the PowerOutage website, which tracks utility reports. The Tennessee Valley Authority, the nation’s largest utility, ended rolling blackouts Friday afternoon but continued to urge homes and businesses to conserve power.

Nearly 5,000 domestic flights, to or from the United States were canceled on Friday, according to tracking website FlightAware. A blizzard causes even more chaos as travelers attempt to return home for the holidays.

“We have to stay positive,” said Wendell Davis, who plays basketball with a France team and was waiting Friday at O’Hare in Chicago after a series of flight cancellations.

A huge storm stretched from border to border. In Canada, WestJet has canceled all Friday flights from Toronto Pearson International Airport, starting at 9 a.m., because of experts meteorology in the country warned of a potential once-a-decade severe weather event.
