The story of a cafe owner in Bali was surprised by the arrival of British and Canadian PMs

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Art Cafe Bumbu Bali Putu owner Fabian von Holzen didn’t expect his dining venue to be a hangout British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

According to Fabian, the presence of the two heads of state to enjoy food and drinks in his cafe was a special moment.

“Two days ago was a very special day for us at Bumbu Bali Art Cafe. The Prime Minister came for dinner. It was something very special for us here,” Fabian said as quoted by detik. com, Thursday (18/11).

Fabian said that at the start of his cafe there would be British and Canadian PMs.

He claimed to have been invited by the British Embassy (Embassy) in Jakarta about a week ago before the arrival of the two Prime Ministers.

During the meeting, the embassy said that there would be the arrival of VIP guests at Bumbu Bali Art Cafe. However, they did not specify who would be present.

Until finally Fabian was surprised, it turned out that those present were Rishi Sunak and Justin Trudeau.

“There (at the embassy) they (said) that personalities would come, but they did not say who. It had not been said that England and Canada would come for a dinner at a table. Nothing at all. But the prime minister come. It’s crazy beautiful,” Fabian said.

Fabian admitted that he only communicated with the British. He had no discussions with the Canadian side. Even now, Fabian doesn’t know why his cafĂ© was chosen as a meeting place.

“The initial story of why they came here, I was a little surprised too. But maybe he wants to try some authentic Balinese food,” he said.
