JAKARTA – In the world there are various multilateral organizations. This multilateral organization has objectives ranging from strengthening security to improving the economy and culture of each member. Among these organizations are BRICS and NATO . Here is the difference between BRICS and NATO.

Membership

NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) or the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is a defense and security organization in the North Atlantic region, comprising the United States, Canada and European countries. The presence of NATO is inseparable from the role of the United States, after the end of the Second World War. NATO was founded on April 4, 1949 by 12 initiating countries. So far, NATO has 30 member countries.

While BRICS is an international forum made up of five countries, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (South Africa). Initially, this forum was called BRIC, until finally in September 2010, South Africa joined so that the name became BRICS. BRICS was founded in 2006.

Destination

The creation of NATO aims to ensure the security of member countries through political and military means. Politically, NATO is opening defense and security cooperation to solve problems. Meanwhile, the purpose of creating BRICS is that apart from the reasons of global economy, BRICS were also formed to maintain peace, prosperity and security. BRICS strives to be fair and comprehensive in providing development assistance to each country.
