With the Canadian Minister, Airlangga highlights agricultural cooperation



“Economic cooperation with Canada should not be limited to trade in raw materials, but should be forward-looking,” said Coordinating Minister of Economy Airlangga Hartarto during a meeting with the Canadian Minister of International Trade, SMEs and Economic Development, Mary Ng in Jakarta, Wednesday (12/02/2020) 10).

On the other hand, Canada gives priority to the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between Indonesia and Canada (ICA-CEPA). CEPA’s structure will make it easier for Canadian companies to invest, export and do business in Indonesia.



Regarding agricultural cooperation, Canada also hopes to obtain a Halal certificate from the Indonesian government for the beef sector.

In response to this, Coordinating Minister Airlangga assured that he would speak to the MUI to obtain information Mutual Recognition Agreement (ARM).

“The Ministry of Agriculture team will be visiting Brazil in the near future for the same purpose, so hopefully the team can also visit Canada regarding the Abattoir Examination Requirements (RPH )”, did he declare.
