Google added that there are currently a number of popular mobile games that can be played through the standalone Google Play Games app on a PC. They mention that Windows is one of the operating systems that supports this feature.

“Our main goal is to reach players wherever they are and give them access to a wide variety of games on as many devices as possible. Players using the beta are also very happy because they can play their favorite games seamlessly across mobile phones, tablets, Chromebooks, and PCs,” Google wrote.

They admit that the catalog of games playable from the Google Play Games app on PC may still be limited. However, it does open up support for Android game developers to be able to showcase their work here.

Google has also committed to making Google Play Games compatible with PC specifications. At the minimum required specifications, a computer or laptop with the Windows 10 operating system, 8 GB of RAM, an Intel UHD Graphics 630 graphics card and SSD-based storage with a capacity of 10 GB.

“We are excited to expand our platform to more markets so gamers can enjoy their favorite games on Google Play. While we are still working on rolling out the full version of this program, we will continue to add new features and evaluating developer and player feedback,” Google explained.
