Tangerang, Gatra.com – The Immigration Branch of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) is conducting a trial for the application of Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) which is expected to be inaugurated Wednesday, November 9. The inauguration was carried out to welcome the momentum of the G20 summit to be held on November 15 and 16, 2022.

“We agree with the leadership of the Acting Director General of Immigration, Mr. Widodo Ekatjahjana, that this e-VOA is an effort to support the G20 Summit and meet the needs of the global community who want to take holiday or having a business meeting in Indonesia, therefore, we must provide what is best needed,” Muhammad Tito Andrianto, head of Soekarno-Hatta immigration office, said Saturday (5/11).

On Friday evening (4/11) at 22:55 WIB, the first foreigner to become an e-VOA user landed in Indonesia via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Tangerang, Banten.

The foreigner departed from Hong Kong on a Cathay Pacific Airways aircraft with flight number CX797. Guo Jinpeng, a citizen of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) has made a name for himself as the first foreign citizen (WNA) to enter Indonesia using e-VOA.

“I’m here on business, I’m using an electronic visa issued by the Indonesian government, it’s very simple,” he said after experiencing the e-VOA process for himself.

On the same occasion, Habiburahman, Immigration Information and Communications Technology Officer at Soekarno-Hatta Immigration Office explained that this e-VOA will have a B213 visa index.

Although this innovation is currently in the pilot phase, it is hoped that after its launch, foreigners will be able to register their visa applications more easily, as it is only through the molina.imigration.go.id site. After approval from immigration authorities, foreigners only need to make payments online with a credit card bearing the Visa, Mastercard or JCB logo.

After making the payment, the e-VOA application will be checked by the agent and if approved, it will be sent to foreigners through the application. Moreover, foreigners simply download the e-VOA which has been approved and just show it at the immigration checkpoint when entering Indonesian territory.

“Currently, only foreigners from 26 countries are allowed to apply for e-VOA, namely,” he said.

The 26 countries are Australia, South Africa, United States of America, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, India, UK, Italy, Japan, Germany, Canada, South Korea, Mexico. Then France, Russia, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, Timor Leste, China, Turkey and Ukraine.

During this trial period, foreigners holding e-VOA are only allowed to enter Indonesia through two arrival gates, namely Soekarno Hatta International Airport in Tangerang and Ngurah Rai International Airport in bali.

Foreigners using e-VOA are required to pay IDR 500,000 and will be allowed to stay in Indonesia for 30 days, and can be extended for another 30 days at the immigration office. Like the e-Visa, the e-VOA can be used up to 90 days after payment. They are allowed to stay in Indonesia for sightseeing visits, government service visits, business interview visits, commodity purchase visits, meeting visits, and transits.
