Hoping for a better economy after the pandemic and facing the possibility of a global recession, a number of fishermen in Surabaya, East Java, organized a flash mob action in support of the G20 summit in Bali. The event took place at the Suramadu Bridge Access from the Surabaya side on Thursday (27/10).
Anglers who are members of the Anglers Association under the DPC of All Indonesian Anglers Association (HNSI) Surabaya. A total of 255 members are divided into 5 Joint Business Groups (KUB), but this flash mob action was organized by at least 50 anglers.
In his request, the fishermen place great hopes on the implementation of the G20 summit so that the resulting recommendations will have an impact on the well-being of the fishermen who throw nets into the ocean every day.
Event coordinator Mustofa said this activity is also a form of support and a sense of pride for HNSI Surabaya for Indonesia’s election as the host of the G20 summit in Bali on November 15. 2022.

The G20 summit will bring together 19 countries and one economic region, namely the European Union. Comprised of South Africa, United States, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Russia, France, China and Turkey.
With the theme “Recover Together, Recover Stronger”, at the G20 summit, Indonesia invites the whole world to work together to recover from the pandemic and build the world in a sustainable way.
The series of main agendas of the Indonesian G20 Presidency include Summits, Ministers’ Governors and Central Banks (Financial Track), Sherpa-Level Meetings (Sherpa Track), Deputy-Level Meetings, Working Group Level Meetings, Engagement Group Level Meetings, Events programs, as well as the Road to G20 Indonesia 2022 program.
The subject that is at the center of the G20 this time is the Financial Track and Sherpa Track meetings. During the Sherpa Track meeting, several important issues will be raised, including agriculture, anti-corruption, digital economy, sustainable energy, investment, employment, health, environment, development and trade.
