This was conveyed during a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister (PM) of Canada Justin Trudeau on the sidelines of the Summit (Summit) G7 in Elmau, Monday (27/6/2022).
“This year, we commemorate 70 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Canada. Indonesia and Canada should continue to foster the spirit of cooperation, the spirit of collaboration and the spirit of multilateralism in the face of today’s global challenges,” Jokowi said as quoted in the Secretariat’s press release. presidential.
To achieve this, the President pushed for the completion of the ICA-CEPA negotiations in 2023, which will send a positive signal to Indonesian and Canadian businesses.

On this occasion, Jokowi also expressed his gratitude for Canada’s full support for the Indonesian G20 Presidency.
Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Arif Havas Oegroseno also accompanied President Jokowi during bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Trudeau.
As for G7 Summit This 48th annual meeting of G7 countries brings together the United States, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Germany, Canada and France.
Indonesia is present as a partner country of the G7 as well as the presidency of the G20.
At the G7 summit this time, President Jokowi encouraged the G7 countries to jointly seek peace in Ukraine and seek solutions as soon as possible to deal with the food crisis and energy crisis engulfing the world.
