A number of entertainers reportedly came to the funeral Queen Elizabeth II which will be held at Westminster Abbey, England, from 11:00 a.m. local time, one of whom is David Attenborough, who has long been friends with the Queen.
David Attenborough is a British broadcaster and historian who has won several awards for voicing documentaries on BBC television and radio.
“A nation is in mourning,” Attenborough said moments after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
In 1985, he received the honorary title of Knight of the Queen for his world achievements. It has been confirmed that Attenborough will attend the funeral.
Not only British personalities, Canadian actresses Sandra Oh will also be present at the event. The Killing Eve and Grey’s Anatomy star attended with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
As reported The Independenthis presence is associated with the awarding of the Order of Canada in June 2022 by the Canadian government.
Besides Oh, there are also other personalities who receive the Order of Canada who will be present at the Queen’s funeral, such as musicians and artists Gregory Charles and Olympic gold medalist Mark Tewksbury.
Gregory Charles is a Quebec musician who has already worked with Celine Dion during her world tour in 2000. His second album, I Think Of You, became one of the best-selling albums in Canada in 2006.
Whereas Marc Tewksbury is a former Canadian swimmer. He is best known for winning gold in the 100 meter backstroke at the 1992 Summer Olympics. He also hosted the first season of How It’s Made, a Canadian documentary series, in 2001.
Apart from Tewksbury, a former British rider Jackie Stewart also confirmed his presence at the event. He befriended the Queen early in his career.
He felt lucky enough to be able to drive with Queen Elizabeth II a few times. In fact, Stewart said he had been a passenger in the car driven by the Queen.
“She’s definitely the most amazing woman I’ve ever known,” Stewart said.
