TEMPO.CO, London – Group member countries G7 committed to supporting Ukraine as long as you need it. The leaders of the G7 group have expressed their commitment, following calls from their leaders, that any use of nuclear weapons by Russia is exposed to serious consequences.

“We will continue to provide financial, humanitarian, military, diplomatic and legal support and we will stand firm with Ukraine for as long as necessary,” the G7 joint statement said. ReutersTuesday, October 11, 2022.

The G7 group says it has convinced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said they were unaffected and would continue to provide Ukraine with the support it needs to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In their statement, they also condemned the Russian missile attack on Ukrainian territory. They declared attacks on civilians a war crime. “We will hold President Putin and those involved accountable,” the G7 statement said.

The G7 leaders also denounced what they called Russia’s irresponsible nuclear rhetoric. They deplore Russia’s deliberate moves to escalate the situation, including mobilization of reservists and nuclear rhetoric that jeopardizes global peace and security.

“We reiterate that any use of chemical, biological or nuclear weapons by Russia will have serious consequences.”

The G7 is an intergovernmental political forum made up of the United States, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Germany, Canada and France. German government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit said Chancellor Olaf Scholz had spoken to Zelensky and assured him of Germany and other G7 countries’ solidarity with Ukraine.
