Bottas believes Zhou will show a better performance next season. The young Chinese would have everything to survive in F1.

“A very worthwhile contract extension for Zhou Guanyu. Great to be able to continue working together at Alfa Romeo in 2023,” Bottas tweeted on his personal Twitter account.

The news that Alfa Romeo will maintain Guanyu Zhou itself appeared a few weeks ago. The public was therefore not too surprised when it learned that the Swiss manufacturer had decided to entrust him with a new contract.

They said they were happy with Zhou’s performance throughout the 2022 season. His relationship with Bottas and the crew was also very good, so there was no reason to bring in other drivers.

Meanwhile in the driver standings, Zhou is ranked 17th, 40 points behind Valtteri Bottas, who is perched in P10. But he was ahead of drivers who had longer F1 careers like Lance Stroll, Alex Albon and Nicholas Latifi.
