The plaintiff also asked the judge to order defendants I to V to compensate for material losses amounting to 37 million US dollars. In the meantime, he also requested the judge to punish Accused VI, Accused VII and Accused IX to compensate for the material losses of Rs 31.9 billion.

PT Tambang Mas Sangihe (TMS), which sued President Jokowi for Rp 1 trillion, owns a mining concession covering an area of ​​42 hectares (ha) on an island in North Sulawesi.

Referring to the company’s data in Minerba One Data Indonesia (MODI) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, TMS obtained a Production Operation Permit in the form of a Contract of Employment (KK) from the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources with decree number SK 163.K/MB.04/DJB/2021.

In this decree, TMS obtained a 33-year operating license which will take effect from January 29, 2021 to January 28, 2054.

In the middle of last year, the people of Sangihe strongly rejected the presence of the mine. PT TMS then won the lawsuit against the residents in the licensing dispute. On the other hand, they are currently filing a lawsuit with the Jakarta State Administrative Court.
