Canada return to World Cup after 36-year absence

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – Canadian national team made history by qualifying for the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar.

Canadian national team secured being one of Central America’s (CONCACAF) representatives at the 2022 World Cup.

It was confirmed after canadian national team picked up a 4-0 victory over Jamaica in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in the CONCACAF zone on Monday (28/3/2022).

Canada’s four goals against Jamaica were scored by Cyle Larin, Tajon Buchanan, Junior Hoilett and Adrian Mariappa.

The Canadian national team currently leads the standings with 28 points in 13 games. With three games to go, Canada is unlikely to leave the top four and become the first CONCACAF team to qualify for the 2022 World Cup final.

It’s a new story for the Canadian national team, which has only participated twice in the World Cup. Previously, Canada participated in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.

Unfortunately, at that time, Canada was being bullied by suffering three losses and failing to score.

Now, after 36 years, Canada will again compete in the four-year tournament. Alphonso Davies and his friends would be better prepared when it comes to the current squad.

The other three tickets for the 2022 CONCACAF World Cup are still in the fight between the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama.

The United States and Mexico, who have 25 points so far, have a good chance of overtaking Canada at the 2022 World Cup final.
