Bisnis.com, JAKARTA — President Jokowi is very determined to continue improving cooperation between Indonesia and Canada in the future.
This was conveyed during a bilateral meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Elmau on Monday, June 27, 2022.
“This year, we commemorate 70 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Canada. Indonesia and Canada should continue to foster the spirit of cooperation, the spirit of collaboration and the spirit of multilateralism in the face of today’s global challenges,” Jokowi said.
Therefore, to continue to strengthen economic cooperation, Jokowi is pushing for the completion of ICA-CEPA negotiations in 2023, which will send a positive signal to Indonesian and Canadian businesses.
On this occasion, Jokowi also expressed his gratitude for Canada’s full support for Indonesia’s G20 Presidency.
Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Arif Havas Oegroseno also accompanied President Jokowi during bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Trudeau.
